Escape to Tenerife for some winter sun

Tenerife is the ultimate destination for year round for warm sunshine, only four hours flight time from the UK, but with temperatures rarely dipping below the 20’s even in winter.

With amazing offers like 3* self-catering from just £155pp and 4* all inclusive from just £238pp, it is hard to think of a reason not to visit the island of eternal spring, so we have come up with our top three resorts for you to escape to the winter sun this year…

  • Las Caletillas is a picturesque resort just 14km from the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Staying here you will get the best of both worlds with pebbly beaches nearby, stunning villages to wander round, like Candelaria, and the culture and sightseeing in Santa Cruz. Las Calletillas has excellent transport links making it the perfect resort to explore the rest of the island from.
  • Costa del Silencio in the south of the island, is a peaceful resort, but is near enough to the livelier Playa de las Americas to enjoy an evening out at the larger resort. The nearest pebble beach is a short walk away, and is ideal for water sports. If you are looking for a sandy beach, then head to Playa de las Americas or Los Cristianos. There are plenty of water parks and golf courses nearby, as well as the opportunity to go on whale and dolphin watching boat trips. It is worth checking park opening times before you visit in the winter months.
  • Playa de las Americas is one of the most popular resorts in the island. Located in the south, it has the beaches, weather and nightlife to keep everyone entertained all holiday. You can take day trips from here to the nearby island of La Gomera, or other boat trips offering snorkelling, dolphin watching and scuba diving. The nightlife here is some of the best on the island with something to suit everyone, from those looking for a relaxing cocktail bar to watch the sun set, to those wanting clubs that stay open all night long.
