Costa del Silencio in the south of the island, is a peaceful resort, but is near enough to the livelier Playa de las Americas to enjoy an evening out at the larger resort. The nearest pebble beach is a short walk away, and is ideal for water sports. If you are looking for a sandy beach, then head to Playa de las Americas or Los Cristianos. There are plenty of water parks and golf courses nearby, as well as the opportunity to go on whale and dolphin watching boat trips. You can take day trips from here to the nearby island of La Gomera, or other boat trips offering snorkelling, dolphin watching and scuba diving. The nightlife here is some of the best on the island with something to suit everyone, from those looking for a relaxing cocktail bar to watch the sun set, to those wanting clubs that stay open all night long.
