#TTOT- Twitter’s Biggest Travel Conversation
Travel Talk on Twitter

#TTOT- The Best hour on Twitter every week!

TTOT or Travel Talk on Twitter is a weekly virtual discussion between thousands of travel enthusiasts. The premise is a hash tag (#TTOT) on Twitter and the set up is simple; questions are submitted by participants on a designated topic and the best 5 are selected by the 30 or so regular hosts, to be answered by anyone who wants to get involved. There are two sessions (both on Tuesday) so that travel junkies around the world can get their weekly fix.

Topics have naturally been varied, including talks on World Heritage Sites, visa and immigration, group travel and cruises. The cult following that has built up around the weekly hour of travel talk, attracts all sorts of travel enthusiasts from all over the world. It is also great way to grow your Twitter following.

If #TTOT is new to you, here are 5 tips to ensure that your first experience is a good one:

  1. Always include #TTOT in your tweets related to the session, otherwise your wise words won’t reach other participants.
  2. Use Tweetdeck, or a similar Twitter application, to search for #TTOT and look through the mind boggling amount of tweets coming through - it is much easier than using Twitter in your web browser.
  3. If you are travel related company, resist the temptation to sell, people are there to share their travel experiences and will quickly get annoyed.
  4. Share your own experiences, whatever they are. If you think they are interesting enough to tweet, then someone else is bound to be interested by them too.
  5. Interact with as many people as possible. Retweet, chat and follow other people who you find interesting, to get the most out of the session.
