The snow has melted, celebrity big brother is nearly over and the 18th month long recession has technically ended, according to Gordon Brown; things are on the up for the UK!
Earlier this week, Gordon Brown acknowledged that the UK is now out of the recession, but as the country moves away from the recession there will be bumpy times ahead. Hopefully one thing that will definitely get back to normal in 2010 is that more people will be able to afford to getaway on a holiday and with the pound strengthening every week this is looking more and more likely. In 2009, the British staycation became a very popular way of taking a holiday on the cheap. Holidays to the seaside, short camping breaks and the ever popular motorhome holidays were all popular choices in 2009 as we all tried to save the pennies. However, it seems that things are on the up with a recent survery conducted by simonseeks.com showing that more than half of those people who chose a staycation last year were planning on travelling abroad in 2010.
As Gordon Brown said, although the recession is behind us there is going to be some tough times ahead meaning that searching out the best holiday deal is even more important. The research by simonseeks.com also identified that even though people are planning on travelling abroad, 41% of those surveyed will cut back on the year's holiday budget or will find different ways to get some extra cash from doing some overtime to taking a packed lunch to work! At lowcostholidays.com we don't want you to give up your boots meal deal or thai takeaway, instead we guarantee to find you the cheapest prices for your next holiday!

Brilliant post. I am a student and like to go travelling, the only holidays I can really afford are UK ones. My friends and I tend to stay in inexpensive, but nice hotels, in the UK and go sightseeing in the local area. Last year we went to London and it was brilliant. Planning on going back for the actual Olympics.
