The happiest tourist destinations are those furthest away, according to a new study conducted by Skyscanner.
Australia, Canada and South Africa were found to be the most popular destinations by the poll, which surveyed over 1,000 UK residents.
Spain, Turkey and Germany also had a strong showing, but the research indicated that long-haul destinations were the "happiest".

Florida's beaches are "clean and clear" according to a spokesman from the state's tourism board.
Speaking to Reuters, Will Seccombe commented on the region's increased tourism numbers in 2010's second quarter.
"One hundred per cent of [Florida] beaches are open for business. They are clean and clear," he said.
